Usually winter in East Tennessee brings clear skies prime for probing celestial wonders but not this year. I have had my scope out only once since October and it is maddening. The one time I was out was in heavily light polluted skies with a half moon. It was still enjoyable looking at the Moon and Saturn but I long for dark skies filled with deep sky objects.

Sure there have been a few clear nights. They have always been around the full Moon or on work nights. What is worse is spring and summer is around the corner and that means haze, more haze and much more haze.

I am off Tuesdays and Wednesdays now and was hoping tomorrow night would be clear. Wrong the forecast is for mostly cloudy skies. Looks like my scope will be collecting more dust until October.
