I am a huge music fan. I like anything with talent especially instrumental. Today I was perusing the internet for greatest guitar solos list and there are quite a few opinions and they are all different. Here are a few links I have come across in my search. http://guitar.about.com/library/bl100greatest.htm and http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_guitarsolo.html as you can see they very widely and that is the fun of it and music.
I thought I would give you my top 10 list of all time great guitar solos.

  1. Blues Deluxe Joe Bonamassa. Joe Bonamassa without a doubt is the best guitarist in the world and his talent is shown full force in the song Blues deluxe. This has a few fantastic solos in it.
  2. November Rain Slash of Guns n Roses without a doubt is the best in my mind. There are two solos in this song that will make your hair stand.
  3. Amazing Joe Perry of Aeorsmith. The ending of this song is fantastic. Sadly this solo isn’t even mentioned in any of the top 100 list above. I love it and frankly blows away most of the solos in the above top 100 list.
  4. Freebird Lynyrd Skynyrd I have heard this song played live with Gary Rossington playing. This solo is incredible.
  5. Highway Star Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple. I can’t get enough of this solo. It is awesome and goes on forever but you never get tired of it.
  6. Heartbreaker Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin This is a great solo which in my opinion rips Stairway to Heaven to shreds.
  7. Crossfire Stevie Ray Vaughan. I put this ahead of Texas Flood but just a little.
  8. Texas Flood Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie Ray Vaughan in my opinion is the greatest guitarist to ever live.
  9. Voodoo Chile Jimi Hendrix
  10. Eric Clapton Five Long Years off his From the Cradle CD. I think this is much better guitar playing then Layla and I like it slightly better then Crossroads.

There is my list. It was hard to come up with it as others are deserving like Pantera Floods, Carlos Santana Europa, Crossroads Eric Clapton, Southern Man Neil Young. Eruption Van Halen and many many others.
